Easy Birthday Cake Hack For People Who Can't Bake
Let’s be honest, who has the time and energy to spend hours in the kitchen baking and then decorating? Certainly not me. Don’t get me wrong, I love cake - but I’m more about the ‘eating it’ part, rather than the actual baking it’ bit.
Here is my simple 10 minute birthday cake decorating hack for people who can’t bake (or can’t be bothered to).
Ingredients
- 1 Woolworths Mud Cake (or any similar cake)
- ½ Cup CSR All Natural Buttercream Icing Mix Chocolate
- 1 tbsp Soft Butter
- 1 tbsp Hot Water
- Maltesers
- M&Ms
- TeeVee Snacks Malt Sticks
Method
1. Place the mud cake onto a serving plate or cake stand.
2. Sift the icing mixture into a small bowl, add the soft butter and hot water and stir well until the ingredients are combined.
3. Spread the icing all over the top and sides.
4. Place a ring of Maltesers around the base.
5. Arrange the TeeVee snacks around the side.
6. Finally, sprinkle the top of the cake with lots of M&Ms.
That’s it! A deliciously impressive birthday cake finished in under 10 minutes. Best of all, you don’t need to tell anyone it’s a supermarket cake if you don’t want to.
